I'm a high school student, writing this blog mostly on my views of history.I should be writing a couple times a week, usually based on questions by my teacher
Now that I'm a Sophomore in high school, I've had the chance to experience many teachers with different techniques of teaching, some better than others. To me a great teacher is one who gets the point across no matter what it takes. Not all students have the same learning style, making it hard to succeed in some classes. Last year, my Spanish teacher, Ms. Rogers, was my idea of a great teacher. She would have us play games, make us move around the classroom, and give us a variety of worksheets, etc. Although it was a lot of work, I gained a ton of knowledge, along with the rest of my classmates because we all understood what she was saying. This year you could help by letting me work with small groups. I also like to watch videos because I am a visual learner.
Waking up at 6:00 am to sit in classroom and have information shoved down your throat is not anyone's idea of fun.School can be stressful at times, but the majority of people need their education to go somewhere in life. John Green is absolutely correct; it is no coincidence that since compulsory education started, some of the worlds greatest achievements have been made. I do believe that getting a good education can not only help you but help your generation grow and discover new things. One of my academic goals for this year is to get at least a 3.4 GPA. The best way for me to achieve this is to start my homework as soon as I get home and avoid all distractions.
